“DO YOU ACCEPT MY INSURANCE?”
Having dental insurance is like having your dental treatment pre-paid by your employer!
This is the most common question people ask. In fact, to make a long story short – we accept most of Preferred Provider Plans with Aetna, CIGNA, Delta Dental, Guardian, Metlife and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Also, we participate with United Healthcare and United Concordia PPO plans. If you have Principal, Assurant, POMCO, SIDS or CSEA dental insurance plans, we will be happy to see you and your family in our practice.
Here is just a partial list of the PPO insurance plans that we accept:
We also take care of all the paperwork for you, so you do not have to deal with your insurance company. As a courtesy, in addition to filing the claim, we will initially ask you only for your estimated co-payment. Please understand that this is only an estimate, and is based upon the information available to us at the time of service. Once your carrier has paid the claim, any difference will be due upon receipt of our statement.
The range of benefits depends solely on what your employer wishes to purchase. Some plans cover as little as 30% or as much as 100% of dental services, with most falling in the 40% to 80% range. Many plans base the amount of benefit on a schedule of fees arbitrarily developed by insurance companies. For this reason, you may receive a lower percentage than the reimbursement level indicated in your dental plan. For example, if your plan states that it will pay 80% of the cost of a specific treatment, it means 80% of the fee arbitrarily determined by the insurance company and not the actual fee charged by our office.
The financial obligation for the dental treatment is between you and our office. For your convenience, we offer interest free financing through Chase HealthAdvance and CareCredit. For more details, click here.
However, before you go through any sort of treatment, Natasha, our office manager, will give you a treatment estimate detailing all of the covered procedures as well as break down on copayments and deductibles payable by you.
